After what seems an age, I'm delighted to be able to announce that my novel is once again available in hardback book form. It includes a new afterword, containing my reflections on the six years that have elapsed since it was first released.
The book remains available in ebook and audiobook formats. The ebook has been updated to include the new afterword and there's also now the option of getting a personalised copy of the ebook.
Further details about all of this can be found on the central "CHRONOS" webpage.
All ten episodes of the CHRONOS audiobook have now been published. They're available via the URL that I published in the previous blog entry as well as via the following CHRONOS page hosted by the Internet Archive.
An audiobook reading of "CHRONOS", narrated by me, is being released as a podcast. Split into ten parts, the first two episodes are published today and further episodes will be published on a weekly basis, every Wednesday. The final episode is scheduled to go out on December 16th.
The URL for the podcast feed is https://feed.podbean.com/chronosthenovel/feed.xml and the podcast can also be accessed from https://chronosthenovel.podbean.com/ . All the audio files are being released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence.
Interview by Scott Nesbitt
I was recently interviewed by the Plain Text Project website. It was a fun interview to do as it gave me a chance to talk about my writing workflow and my use of plain text for initial drafts.
Scott Nesbitt has been running the website for the past three years and has done a great job putting together a set of articles on all things to do with working with plain text. One of his sources of inspiration was an article of mine called "Living in a Single Text File" which recounted my experiences doing all my work (notes, articles, planning, etc.) in just one EMACS file. I wrote the piece originally in 2006 and republished it, on a whim, on this website when I launched it, almost five years ago. It continues to both amuse and surprise me that to this day it ranks at, or near, the top of my visitor traffic each month!
Anyway, Scott's website is well worth taking a look at. I thoroughly recommend having a browse there.
P.S. And yes, a plain text version of CHRONOS is available for all you die-hards!
The latest edition of the Crypto Asset podcast features an interview with me talking about the latest speculation concerning the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. It's available via all the usual sources of podcast material, including Apple Podcasts.
A big thank you to George, Greg and Dave for having me on their programme.
The video of my CoinFest UK talk on the mysteries surrounding Satoshi Nakamoto is now available. It's always a fun presentation to give and I would like to thank all those who came along to listen, despite the relatively early hour.
It's now confirmed that my CoinFestUK talk will take place at 10.15 AM on the first day of the conference, Thursday April 4th. It's always a great buzz around CoinFest events and I'm looking forward to spending a couple of days in Manchester.
Speaking at CoinFestUK 2019
I'm delighted to have been invited to present my Satoshi Nakamoto talk at this year's CoinFestUK in the wonderful city of Manchester. The complete programme hasn't yet been published but I'm due to talk sometime on the first morning, Thursday April 4th. Last year's event was great fun and I'm sure that this year will be just as good.
This is a recording of the presentation that I gave at CoinFest UK back in April. Thanks to all those attendees who turned up to listen, despite the early starting time, and a particular thank you to those who asked all the great questions at the end.
A couple of people have contacted me today about an issue with my electronic store. If PayPal is selected as the means of payment, when the "Continue to PayPal" button is clicked the web page hangs, endlessly displaying a "Please Wait" message.
I investigated the issue this evening and think that I've found the cause of the problem - it was the way that the chronosthenovel.com domain was being forwarded. Fingers crossed, everything should now work.
So, if you have been having problems using the store, please try again now - you should find that you're now able to complete your order. If you're still running into difficulties, get in touch and I'll do some more investigation.
Thanks for your patience with this matter and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
